Are you a literal NPC? First you had trouble counting to two, now you're just copy and pasting your replies. Do you need some time to update before you can type anything new?

Voat memes are a fascinating phenomenon because although they ape /pol/ tropes, they're made almost entirely by flyover dads and thus retain the cursed energy of more conventional boomerposts.

The ben garrison-esque annotations, the imgflip logo and impact font on a black background make this a good variation on a classic theme. Also, the fish has hair. 7/10

This physically hurt to look at. Fuck you.

looks like we got a triggered liberal on our hands boys

This hurts me on the inside to look at. While not incorrect, the utter hamfisted crudeness robs it of all memetic potential. This is like if someone tried to repurpose a meme to promote a church bake sale on facebook without understanding anything about it. Except it's sorta OC-ish so that makes it much worse.

this is why it's so fascinating to me. Voat meme culture is like a bizarre imitation of chan concepts carried out by people who have only the most surface-level understanding of what makes it work. It reminds me of those polynesian cargo cults where locals built dummy runways and aeroplanes out of rocks and straw in order to summon back the aeroplanes that visited during the war

those polynesian cargo cults

God damn. I was about to come back and edit to say this is like a picture of a polynesian guy wearing coconuts for headphones and pretending to be at a control tower. Because you are right, that's exactly what it is. You can see that they think they understand it, they've worked out in their head that it's supposed to work, but they've also got only the most superficial, skin deep understanding of it.

It's oddly almost the exact opposite of Zoomer memes up until a recently when they started hitting puberty. Remember all those Roblox and iFunny type memes that weren't deliberately bad, but just had incoherent, nonsensical or obvious statements? They grasped the intent and mechanism of the meme, that it needed to be clever, thought provoking or otherwise stick in your head, but they had no real life experience or connection to reality that allowed them to come up with anything. I am disregarding intentionally bad or shitpost memeing here.
