If this is correct, and he was banned from an event (Kube Con) by The Linux Foundation because some people were upset that he tried to mediate between a friend and people who were upset with him, then this is a terrible situation.
The lady that caused all this because a guy that took a picture in a MAGA hat once offered to help solve a problem is behind an org (hashtagcauseascene.com) to inject 'decolonizedfeminism' into tech spaces. Naturally all the other recent crumblings of the Linux community regarding the CoC, etc. have made it extremely easy for these regressive (she literally just tweeted something about colonizing white women at a feminist talk needing to be removed because they disagreed with a claim that Islam doesn't need feminsm ... lol) activists to storm the space and tear shit apart. We're going to hell fast, but I've still got a lot of popcorn.
The banned member wore a MAGA hat back in 2016 for a selfie, because it seemed like a fun thing to do, while being in New York, not understanding that it would have negative connotations 3 years later, and he doesn't even like Trump, and even if he did, it shouldn't matter.
The Linux Foundation banned him, claiming as reason "Tone Policing", but all he did was trying to resolve an argument between his friend and the offended parties, in a civil manner.
The main drama instance here is wild, but I'm really caught up on that Sarah Mei lady's crazed manufactured outrage about "Domain Driven Design" having an acronym of DDD, which she asserts means it's about big titties and is completely unacceptable.
It's pointed out to her that she's the only one who has ever thought that, and isn't this really just an indication that she's the one with her mind in the gutter? It's also pointed out that the man who coined the term is gay and probably wasn't thinking about big titties. And people were asking who exactly was excluded in any way even if this was an acronym that anybody had ever heard of (crickets).
And she just goes off about how it's "completely irrelevant" about whether anyone else thought DDD == big titties, it's exclusionary, everyone else needs to shut the fuck up and listen to the oppressed minorities who are supposedly being oppressed by this insensitive acronym despite nobody else having ever having complained about the acronym before in human history. It's completely her own invention and her own outrage.
tl;dr - he got banned for trying to tell idiots have a Twitter slap-fight to calm down, this is TONE POLICING HARASSMENT VICTIMS according to some boomer.
