You remember when rightoids sperged out over California? That was California following the advice of the CDC, WHO, and various public health orgs that focus on fighting the spread of HIV. The logic being that if you destigmatize the virus, more people seek treatment, and the spread is reduced because it's basically impossible to spread the virus while medicated.

It wasn't some case of "liberals Gone wild" it was "actual experts on the disease getting the policy they want."

I'd argue they haven't done a very good job. At best they've tried to trivialize and minimalize it, not destigmatize. There seems to be this bizarre belief among many that antiretrovirals will make it basically a non-issue.

Their time would be better spent endlessly sueing the pharmaceutical companies that took publically funded research and commercialized at esorbitant, life destroying prices.
