-because every time they propose a plan like that, its not about the proposed tax rate, its about a shift in exemptions. It might be showing a different tax rate on paper, but with a change in exemptions, certain super rich people will still pay less due to these. Its literally like 90% of lobbying in DC, which is trading exemptions in the tax code.
-Its not that they think that They should pay more, its that they thing every other millionaire should pay more.
-There is a line on your tax form where you can donate as much as you want to the treasury. But none of them do. Why? See my two top points above.
The problem with passing laws against people who make a certain amount is that eventually half the country makes that amount due to inflation. Then we get income taxes which started as a temporary pay for ww2 tax that ends up being everyone paying more than serfs paid in taxes ie the reason our founders created this country

Social democracy with a strong sense of nationalism and socially conservative is the best, most centrist system of government. It is basically the New Deal era democrats.
Honestly if it wasn’t for the fake Native American to rise the ranks of government institutions I would be onboard with government becoming so huge its the only employer
