All it does is make the mind more susceptible to the evils of the world and ignore one's duty to Allah. When you find yourself craving for a vape or nicotine pray to Allah for the strength and fortitude to resist. Many Muslims sadly do sin with nicotine and other forms of self-destruction and distraction from Allah, but they are still haram and must be avoided.
