Back in the early 80's when My Little Pony first came out, I liked them. I don't know why, it was never sexual!, I didn't watch the cartoons, just something appealed to me about the toys. And Pound puppies.
There was a few years when I snuck a few my little pony toys and/or some of the pound puppies around with me everywhere - backpack at school, pockets, whatever. The Hardees Pound Puppy were great because they were cute and small and easy to hide.
Nobody ever knew because I kept them hidden and I knew how much I'd be ostracized for doing that, but they somehow lent me a sense of peace I needed that I can't explain to this day.
I had loving, but overbearing parents, and I guess those toys lent me a sense of peace and comfort in an otherwise overbearing world.
