Before you know it, college will be over and you'll have no ability to make new friends because you don't have anything interesting to talk about or any way to meet new people. Having a clean shaven face is usually required in the military for two reasons. To keep up with their personal hygiene standards and more importantly to keep a seal on a gas mask. Although that guy needs to stop with the Sun Tzu cringe.
Almost every other military in the world has beards and they still utilize gas masks. No CBRN threat = beard allowed, CBRN threat with mask on hip = no beard allowed. The US already does this for things like religious exemptions and Army SF.
The already-growing list of religious exemption requests inflated earlier this year when Spc. John Hoskins applied for a beard exemption as part of his proclaimed devotion to the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster
