And ironically enough if you do telecommute to your blog job then you are usually first up on the chopping block. Literally the only website i know of that doesn't exclusively hire people and has real estate in the richest parts of the US is babylon bee and formerly 4chan. Which is probably why the bee is the only website that turned a profit this decade

The fastest way you can get good money out of coding is learning front end website design. Everyone needs a website, the stakes are low, and the tools are plentiful. You can farm contractor sites for website jobs without quitting your actual job.

Also who uses python to make guis? I'm sure someone does, but that's not what most people use it for. You can knock python all you want, but it's the fastest way to prototype an app. I grow less convinced runtime speed is a valid reason to choose a language. You have c/Fortran libraries for the heavy lifting anyway.
