I have not locked them there, but they have locked themselves. Endertopia is thematically, and to a lesser extent visually, modeled after Limbo in medieval Christian theology. In the Middle Ages, Christian philosophers taught that natural reason could lead one away from sin, but could not lead one to grace. Thus, a person who lived without explicitly following God could escape hellfire by following their reason and conscience, but could not share in God's love in the world to come, being left in an everlasting state of deficient love known as Limbo. Though I am not religious, and I find the idea of eternal damnation, even to a more relaxed hell, absurdly evil, I still agree with the idea that a belief in a greater good or purpose is, at the very least, useful for avoiding the existential despair that comes with realizing the evil of the world and instead helping to make a better world. I think the endermen of Minecraft represent this, as they are intelligent, being able to speak (the endermen speak reversed and sped-up English) and move blocks, but living meaningless lives in fear of a dragon instead of putting their skills to good use, and so they are trapped within the courtyard of Endertopia Castle, built long ago by a different species. I think we dramacels also represent this, as most of us have recognized the world for what it is, but, sadly, have become hopelessly cynical, when time and time again the autistic have shown that we can change the world for the better when we work together with a common purpose. To be clear, I am not saying that the clinically depressed are at fault for being depressed.
