I do think he screwed up in the beginning by not researching what an Indian accent is like. It's really not funny if you're actually familiar with an accent and the person faking it isn't even trying. But saying that Apu was a "caricature" is insane. He was (when I watched the show at least) clearly someone who had his own life and his own story much like Homer but the show wasn't focused on him.
As for Hank Azaria, if you have a problem with him you should probably bring him in for that old cigarette smuggling warrant he has out of New Jersey.

All of the voice actors are going to pass away eventually, and the show has been bad for 20 years, so I guess I don’t really care. I do hope they get a native Scottish person to voice Willie though, otherwise that’s heckin problematic
