This is the shit this subreddit is for. Bravo.

I took a look and a lot of my friends have liked this page despite probably never having heard of it, I have as well. I have definitely never heard of this. This isn't a big deal though as I'm a borderline alcoholic and like to facebook while wasted.

Wtf...is this like actual proof our lizard people overlords are manipulating us through popular social media sites?? Or am I too wasted b/c Iā€™m also an alcoholic to deal with this shit show bread and circuses society?

prob a combination of modern tech companies increasingly hiring dumb fucks who botch security along with the incredible talent of eastern European basement dwellers

When you have no natural resources and lots of simmering tension you make due.

It never ended for Alexander the Great-cels.

His mother was Albanian too. His whole legend was probably made up in the 4th century BC by a bunch of bullshitters autistically spamming scrolls up in the mountains. šŸ˜’

Dilbert creator Scott "PlannedChaos" Adams mentioned something on his podcast that might be the solution to the mystery of how users are being unknowingly siphoned by this page. Could it be the case that a third party app has a permission that enables them to "like" a page on your behalf? That would seem to be a pretty fucking stupid thing for Facebook to allow. Maybe they've done it against Facebook policy?

Surely you mean albania

Someone wrote about this before, apparently.

I did some of my own digging because shit like this is interesting to me. First of all, the website mentioned in the Redditpost I linked - https://joinonlinethings.com/. Seems like your normal "we'll boost your FB/IG/YT page" type of deal. Website is registered though a 3rd party service so there's no name or any identifiable information. Though it has extremely low traffic and I haven't seen any promotion on their FB so who knows if this is really what they do.

They also have a shitton of Instagram pages - with reposting stolen content and insanely low engagement so these are also either stolen or botted. Most of them are just dropping in terms of sub growth but this one has a visible spike at the beginning of SocialBlade's tracking.

Now, one of the Insta pages links to an eshop - https://shoprion.com/. It's full of garbage, like a shitty chinese reseller, and their "contact us" page links their address to a post office in Albania, country right next to Kosovo. They also have another, similar style of eshop, https://jotmagazine.net/, that is promoted in the FB header and their address is listed as some random building in London.

Now, one more thing. They do appear to have more pages than one. Now, I basically don't use Facebook, but funny thing is that when you're logged in, they all redirect you to the one you mentioned - jotmagazine1.0. When you log out, you can browse them though. And if you copy a link from anything but the homepage, you can also browse them when logged in without getting redirected - try this one https://www.facebook.com/pg/jotmagazine23/about/

From there, you can check the history of those pages, and see that they are in fact older, probably hijacked/stolen pages. They even have ok engagement on some of their older videos, like couple hundred k views and reasonable number of comments (hundreds, not tens they'd probably have if the views were botted). Is it possible they're just stealing a ton of smaller pages and then redirecting everyone to the main one, somehow? IDK much about FB so yeah someone tell me if I'm just being retarded.

You can type 10,000 characters and you decided that these were the one's that you wanted.
