There are many exceptions but it is definitely true that a lot of teachers are just not very smart people. /r/teachers is full of people who hate teaching and want to make a career change but don't have any skills whatsoever.
I honestly don't care if we wanna go free college or not. College degrees are already insanely oversaturated so meh.
What I don't get is student loan cancellation. You signed a piece of paper saying "hey, give me this money I don't have now and I promise to give you more later".
Fucking... don't sign contracts if you don't want to be responsible for them? It's not hard.
That is the biggest problem of the whole system i think. An 18 year old can take out a $100,000 loan with no income or assets and can not discharge the debt ever. All only because the gov is backing the loaner. Why is the gov facilitating this scam of a system?
Millennials were fucked the second they accepted the premise of paying triple or more what their parents paid for education, everything beyond that is just cope until something breaks
Yeah, that's the logical conclusion of free colleges. What you have is basically a hyperinflation of diplomas, which makes having a college degree worthless. People waste 4 years of their times and a lot of money but end up can't use their diplomas because guess what? Everybody has them. That's what happened with easy loan programs in the US. Worse happened in here Turkey when college became free for all in late 2000s. Nowadays college graduates (even the prestigious college graduates) are becoming more and more unemployed. They don't want to work for minimum wage because they deserve better since they spent 4 years getting a degree. However, everyone has one so college degree isn't a criteria for employers anymore. They can find a college graduate working for minimum wage whenever they want. What they want is better qualified employees, which means you have to get a Master's or PhD. Free college really fucked up labor market, allocation of resources and academic quality.

Maybe we should stop giving out so many student loans to pay who are going to be crippled by the debt? 🤨
1 ineedmorealts 2020-01-24
Why are you a racist?
1 Kaiser-romulus 2020-01-24
They could just not take the loans you know.

🤨

It also explains many people’s choice in degrees.
1 Kaiser-romulus 2020-01-24
That’s why they should not let anyone go to college until 21

Except these were basically children. They shouldn’t have been responsible
1 R0saParkinsons 2020-01-24
Can these children sign a student loan by themselves or do they need a parent to co-sign?
1 TouchFIuffyTaiI 2020-01-24
The usually bed a cosigner.
1 RecallRethuglicans 2020-01-24
I wasn’t only discussing the students

1 Peytons_5head 2020-01-24

Anytime someone starts a comment with "I mean" I stop reading. There's a 100% chance what will follow will be insufferable.
