There are some things that genuinely are up for debate, things that are nuanced and have multiple solutions or causes. That is not what Rush engaged in, it is not what most American conservatives engage in. Just because you have an opinion does not mean it is a valid opinion or on equal footing with everyone else's opinion.

If you believe 2+2=5 and you continuously spread that "opinion" to vulnerable idiots via a platform you've established - and I attack you for spreading that disinformation, this is more than a simple difference of opinion. As for me, I certainly am not crying for the dude but Rush is one of those things I associate with my dad. Some of my earliest memories are being in the backseat with my dad driving and listening to Rush and smoking cigarettes.

But as an adult he hasnt been influential in my views whatsoever. I'll occasionally listen just to see what he's saying, but he's just another twitter fart sniffer or MSM hack just in a different medium. I've certainly never adopted any of my views because he convinced me.
