On the one hand you can accept there's an objective reality and regardless of intent declare that Magritte did indeed paint a pipe, but that makes you a literalist Nazi.
On the other hand you can accept that intent does matter and Magritte should be allowed to say what it is a painting of, but then you have to accept that the OK sign, frog memes, and Baby it's Cold Outside are dog whistles and that you're a Nazi.
