What I can infer happens most time on there is that teenage Redditors get punished by their parents somehow, let the thought ferment in their head for a while then what comes out is some extremely embellished story that usually doesn’t even make sense on an event-by-event basis.
It’s similar to r/nosleep. No matter how obviously fake (or not even presenting narcissism) a story is, you must take it as gospel, word for word.
Someone else argued somewhere a while ago that most of the frequent posters there probably have some sort of personality disorder themselves. It makes sense when you think about it. I would further argue that some of these users are probably the only people on the subreddit who have narcissistic parents.
I'd also agree r/insaneparents is similar. Pretty much any regular punishment is met with OMG THEY TOOKB YOUR PHONE!!! THAT'S FUCKING INSANE DON'T THEY KNOW THAT'S ABUSE

It is. There's another subreddit (run by the same mod team iirc) that allows discussing the storues as stories. The main sub just demands that everyone larp for some reason.
