The people involved here probably don't even respect bussy all that much.

Shit, I just bought a cheap Asus...

I don't want to scare monger anyone into not buying Asus, I personally think I just have a 'bad seed' which can happen with electronics.

My main problem is

1) The retailer refuse to do anything

2) Asus repair team, fix one problem and cause another, over and over again

Moral of the story if you have to get it repaired use a well-reviewed third-party repair shop.

They actually have to do a good job in order to keep getting more trade as they are not mixed up in the supplier-warranty supply chain so don't get a shot at repair by default.

Well the main problem was

Not booting up at first

After that, dead pixels, blurry screen, and touchpad not working.

And to be honest, I was under the assumption, of there is a problem, let the main company deal with, on this case, Asus

Oh I know how it goes as its right out of the box it costs nothing to get it done on the warranty.

The thing you have to factor in is time how much time have you spent chasing this up and now having to make an online noise about it (which you should do companies should provide decent repair options.) compared to the cost of getting someone who knows his shit to spend an hour plugging in a cable or something that could be very simple.

In all honesty, most of the issues you have can easily be caused by rough handling during the repair process or not making sure connectors are fully seated. Without having it in parts in front of me I couldn't say for sure but it would be easy enough to find out.

Yeah it makes sense in what you are saying. As a matter of fact, I was well impressed first time round, they sent someone to collect the laptop, quick repair and sent it back.

But now I have realised, its wasn't worth it.

July I purchased this laptop and now its Feb, I have only gotten about a month and a half out of it, maybe less.

Let me be honest with you, I can replace this laptop fairly easily, but to most people £1000 is a heck of a lot of money, many would save for this type of laptop and the fact that I got another beast as an alternative, I have put this aside more than I should have.

But I had a long think about it, what of someone else had to save up for a long time for something like this, what if this was someones business laptop, they would have to put everything on hold because these big retailers are to busy to get shit out the door rather than deal with real people

Yup its a volume trade for electronics these days even if you have an issue that fucks the product up 1 in 2000 times (which is actually really common if it happens that much) chances are it's going to be cheaper to just replace/repair the product and allow the other 1999 sales that didn't need replacing to cover it rather than fixing the issue in the first place.

Cell phones are considered disposable some right to repair bills (It would force apple among others to provide parts and schematics to third party repair shops to allow an actual repair market like with cars, planes or boats.) in a couple of us states got shot down recently with one of the arguments being roughly that "oh well you'll just get another one in 2 years time why bother actually being able to fix it when you will just buy another one"

I saw a few videos by a guy called Louis Rossman on Youtube and how he calls out Apple on their bullshit big time

Yup, he's pretty much the biggest online proponent of the right to repair he does a lot of volunteer lobbying for it.

He's also a really fucking good repairperson I learned a lot of micro-soldering stuff watching him. Doesn't hold his tongue on things that piss him off as well which is always fun but it is almost always reasoned complaints rather than just pure rage and reaction.

I had a cheap Asus. It was great at first, really good graphics card for the price, but the DC jack broke down every few months, and I wasn't jamming it in. Eventually the LCD bezel broke off and it was off warranty so I was like, fuck it.

This is why you always buy apple care.

dude bussy lmao

Take it back with a receipt and just return it?

Can't do that The first problem came after 30 days so the retailer does not have to replace it.

Honestly I didn't want to go down the road of calling thi retailer out, but the fact that they have been so neglectful, really pisses me off that they think that they can walk over people like that. £1000 is alot of money

Love it when we get live drama. Will you please update with the result?

Yeah sure, hopefully they take some kinda action. Let's see first of all how they react on twitter as privately, they don't seem to do much

Yo, watch your language. This is an inclusive sub.

😂😂

that sucks. order from amazon next time, theyre return/repair/refund policies and customer support are very good, ive never had a problem getting refunds or replacements even when it wasnt their fault like the mailman delivering my package to the wrong address they just straight mailed me another no questions asked. here is what the amazon uk website says:

Defective Items After 30 Days

Troubleshooting and product support may be available to resolve any issues with your product, as outlined in the Product Support Help page. If your item becomes defective after the Amazon return period, Amazon will repair any defective item. The repair will be completed by the manufacturer or by a third-party repair service provider authorised by the manufacturers to repair their products. If a repair is not possible, we'll send you a replacement, and if a replacement is not available, we will refund the purchase price. Repair is only available for qualifying items sold by Amazon.co.uk or Amazon Warehouse. Amazon does not accept a return after 30 days for consumable products (e.g. batteries, fuses, ink, light bulbs, etc.) or if the defect is due to accidental damage, deliberate damage, caused by external factors, or general wear and tear.

Yeah I know Amazon are great for things like that. They are not always the cheapest but now I know, cheapest isn't always best lol.

id also agree with what other people are saying here and imo consider just taking it to a well-reviewed third-party repair shop locally and eat the repair costs if the repairs they need to do are affordable just to get it over with

In the end, seems like that is what I will have to do.

I just hope the twitter thread gets some reactions, I expect Asus to deal with it, but the retailer box.co.uk are the real culprits here, not wanting anything to do with it

Lol ...who the fuck buys a laptop?

Someone who needs portability lol

Its called cloud computing you neanderthal.

You obviously know what everyone needs. When one wants to do video editing or manage an online business on the move, cloud computing does not cover it lol.

It's funny what you call shit posting on Reddit and Twitter ...

So you chat shit about buying a laptop. Once I invalidate your point, you move to something else 👏👏

Uh oh....I'm giving an attention whore the wrong kind of attention....

You got BTFO'd, nigga. Sit down.

Go to guy's twitter.

You should check out his "company".

It's amazing to me how blatant scammers are.

Cope.

About what? I didn't get ripped off by his fake company....
