Newest accumulation of outrage

3=======D~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

RH was down for the ENTIRE DAY, meaning everyone couldn't trade, even if they had options that would have traded for a million dollars if they expired for today (they get nothing)

On top of that, the bug might have been caused by not checking for a leap year, so the service was trying to access accounts/make exchanges for dates that haven't happened yet.

ON TOP OF THAT THIS EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED 4 YEARS AGO

Tl;Dr A bunch of people lost thousands of dollars because RobinHood can't figure out an easier version of the Y2K bug twice in a row.

Heres a selection of epic comments from one of those wsb threads thread:

• this is what happens when you lie on your resume. im still gonna do it tho.

• So instead of fixing it they're just waiting for it to actually be 3/3?

• Guys I'm on it. >Hello world

• I honestly figured the old laptop that powers RH finally died and nobody knows what to do because the usual fix of jiggling the power cord isn’t helping

• Oh God, they're dumber than we are.

• Someone on Stackoverflow was asking how to fix this one at 10am. Coincedence I think not

• "How little do you know about HTTP protocol?" He knows how to make sick ass red rectangles around exceptions so he’s essentially a sys admin

The incompetence is absolutely unreal if this is true. If the FTC doesn't shut them down they are useless.

I always thought it was a meme company they use to make memes on wsb lol

Anyone who lost money on puts deserves it. I am willing to be an expert witness for RH.

You're oversimplifying a complex situation to the point of adding nothing to the discussion.

This is why A) you don't hire indian devs on fiverr and B) you don't skimp on QA

Can't skimp on QA if you don't do it ~Thonking-black-man.jpg

I've been bested! The RH intern probably just booted the app and said "Passed! Good job lets deploy!"

you don't skimp on QA

That and if they are they should be ready to revert if something goes wrong. Which with good version control could be possible on an app.

Don't blame Indian devs, pay more than a fiver you greedy fucks

So, the one day that the WSB crowd aren't allowed to trade... the stock market has its best day in history? Hmm....🤔

So maybe it would be a good idea to skip investing in stocks through some flimsy app?

not just that, but the app was only so popular on WSB because it was buggy and allowed you to massively expand your leverage through exploits.

"hey buggy software is great STONKS"

"oh wait this software has other bugs too :("
