Frontpage Reddit is, at this point, the dregs of a generation or two after all the people who are capable of normal behavior have been strained out. THey have jobs, hobbies, families and friends. They do not need to interact with random strangers on the internet, with whom they have no shared interest. Most people are not usinf reddit for /r/news or /r/politics. They're in there for a few niche hobbies, or a particular video game. If they use the site at all.

Whats left are the emotionally stunted, the mentally ill, and the people deluded enough to think a place matters.

The thing is though, I feel like it might cause broader issues if these personalities become common enough (especially in kids), and honestly even what enough indirect or infrequent exposure does to well adjusted people.

I've looked up Crisis Text Line and it seems like a pretty great, well-meaning service that's aimed at teens looking to contact someone. The key part there being that the teen contacts the service when they're ready, not the other way around, with Auntie Spez telling you to get some help because you were making Redditors uncomfortable, so they reported you.
