Yep. Here it is. This is what coding drama looks like. Especially on open-source projects where everyone feels entitled to spew their opinions lol.
I think it's a different mindset from working a real job because these coders are thinking in the back of their mind, "what are they gonna do? Fire me?"
Python is a popular programming language used in a lot of places including what Reddit was developed with
PEP8 is an acceptable style guide that says python code should look a certain way
Forking is making a copy of a certain code project and adding features that you specifically want and then requesting the original project maintainer to merge those changes.
Black is the code formatter project being discussed
In this case stefanoborini is a stickler for PEP8 and will not compromise on the code formatter not following all the PEP8 rules to the letter
The project maintainers for Black are aware it's a violation of the style guide but don't feel like fixing it and are giving excuses to evade the problem. stefanoborini is not having it and threatens to fork it and create a competing project/code-formatter called ... Blacker. The maintainers for Black couldn't care less and dare him to do it. Borini does that
The last change was made 2 months ago while Black is being improved daily. Blacker has 9 stars now while Black has 15,000. He had a point originally but he'll never keep up with the new changes being added to Black. It's like getting angry at the mods in /r/Drama for abusing their powers and creating /r/Drama2. You may be right but you'll never become as big as the original sub. You'd burn out eventually trying to moderate it like the original was.
you can argue that it's not as good, but a brief look at the front page of both subs tell you that deux has a much more active userbase even though drama has accumulated a high sub count over the much longer period it's been open
EDIT: a quick estimate shows deux's front page with 3600 upvotes and drama's front page with 2250 upvotes (despite the former having 1/12th the number of subscribers as the latter)

Some of these nerds would have a heart attack if they ever saw some of my code.

Who the fuck even cares about pep8? People who use camel case are R-slurs
I hate open source projects for this reason right here.

It's the same teenager racism hate cult that MDE was all about. It's just another boring /pol/ offshoot for lonely edgelord losers.

imagine caring about python or thinking python code can be 'good'

Okay nerd. I bet you use rust.
