If you ever get a chance, one of the best things to do on the US - Canada border is to visit major battles that took place during the war. It's hilarious to see a memorial for a battle that the US won, but across the street, it was a battle the Canadians won, and then if you read a history book, it turns out that a bunch of soldiers got drunk and shot up an empty barn and no one is even sure which side the soldiers belonged to.
