It seems the game doesn't seem to be going for the good/bad approach, but more of the "violent stuff making you question the morals of each side". It's nice in theory but I doubt it will work since ND is having us play with this troon, or whatever that character is. Having her father killed is not enough of a reason for players to side with her for a minute, because we're already attached to Joel and Ellie. I don't have a problem with Ellie's love story since it's not another agenda they came up with this time (we knew since Left Behind), but the way it's presented makes it look like another thing ND wants to shove in our faces. The first game imo really excelled in the "story that makes you question a character's morals" with Joel saving Ellie, slaughtering fireflies, and stopping what might have been a cure, just so he could still be with Ellie, who is in a way his 'daughter figure'. With all the bullshit that ND has come up with, part II will definitely not compete with its predecessor.
I keep seeing Ellie and the Nose get the shit kicked out of them but I don't see proof either of them actually does. Nose doesn't get her neck slit, and Ellie seems to have just gotten a proper beating. People survive much worse. We don't even actually know Joel dies, again, people survive much worse than golf club to the head. And Tanklord is probably just butch, not a troon.
As fun as this is to watch explode, I think it's going to be like those Rise of Skywalker leaks that were mostly exaggerated.

I watched a friend play through the first game and all the game play looked like was hide in cover, throw brick, silent kill enemy, repeat. An entire game of just that. The story was alright, but at a certain point it literally is just a movie.

Apparently the white supremacist h0m0phobes are also immune so Ellie is not unique, this is also something which just came out of absolutely nowhere, in the first game no one encountered anyone who was immune aside from Ellie, now suddenlly there's like an entire cult of people who cannot turn.
