Modern day social media is allowing edgy children to broadcast their arguments with their parents and have thousands of other edgy children tell them how shitty their parents are based off of maybe 3 texts

Being serious here, what the fuck has social media even really accomplished?

We get political echo chambers that foster extreme ideologies with no actual dissenting opinions allowed.

Cultural and societal echo chambers that foster extreme conspiracy theories that are never challenged.

The rampant spread of misinformation and fake news.

The rise of “influencers” who are basically just attractive, vapid people with no personalities who end up just being walking advertisements.

Finally, you can’t forget the rise of extreme paranoia and censorship. Anything I don’t like? Banned. Anything someone slightly marginalized might not like? Banned. This gives us a ton of incredibly sheltered people who think that nanny states and authoritarian governments are required to protect them from bad thoughts.

I have lived on 4 continents and keep in touch with my friends from there exclusively over facebook and IG. So thats one thing.

Only ever seen a few posts on that sub of actual shitty and damaging behavior from parents. Most of it is just kids who probably push their parents over the line and post the reaction.
