I've only met one Nigerian man, and he was a coworker who had 9 kids (and one time he showed me a picture and he makes them all wear dress clothes every day) and he would CONSTANTLY ask me when I was going to further my education and advance my career.
He told me I absolutely had to have children, because he knew I would raise them competently and his kids need good friends to grow up well. I think about that dude sometimes and wonder how he is.
But yeah, I'm not shocked that some Africans aren't as quick to inflame tensions between people as Americans are. I don't think we value our relative stability as much as we should.
