You think America has 4% of the world's population and 21% of the world's prisoners because America locks people up for domestic violence, burglary and assault, whereas other countries don't? Surely you can see how insane this is?
Yes the vast majority of prisoners are there for rape/sexual assault, murder/manslaughter, assault, drunk driving, distribution of drugs (a smaller part) and various forms of serious theft.
The changes will make policing more expensive and more frustrating for officers, resulting in the pool of talent for the MPD getting even crappier with time.

Yes the vast majority of prisoners are there for rape/sexual assault, murder/manslaughter, assault, drunk driving, distribution of drugs (a smaller part) and various forms of serious theft.

I watched a few minutes of a stream of a guy walking around talking to the protestors. I can confidentally say probably 90% of them don't have jobs and are losers. Throwing up dumb gang signs and shouting "fuck 12" "fuck da authority" and then some edgy teens strolling in saying that this is huge change and will be remembered in history lmao. Half of them are fucking drug addicts too, there needs to be harsher consequences for taking drugs tbh.
