When people say the minority crime rate has to do with socioeconomic background they’re saying that black people are not genetically born to be criminals, not that black people aren’t responsible for crimes they do commit,

If you can acknowledge that the problems could lie in culture, then you can make an effort to trace the origins of culture, trace the disrespect of police historically, try to understand why thinking human beings like you or me might do what they do.
black people are not genetically born to be criminals
yikes sweaty, there's a lot to unpack here.
Consider the following statement (let's call it "statement A"): testosterone makes men more prone to violence than women
Statement A is true. There is a biological explanation for why men tend to be more violent, on average, than women ...and yet, if you think you can reformulate the statement this way (let's call this one statement B): men are biologically born to be criminals - you're wrong (although that will get you highly upvoted in most feminist spaces).
Statement A is true. Statement B is false. If you heard someone say statement A (which is true) and you think you heard them say statement B (which is false), that's a you problem, not a them problem.
Men have free will. Each and every man is fully responsible for his actions. If he commits a violent act, justice should be done upon him. He had a choice to be violent or not. He was not "born to be a criminal." Statement B is false.
So if the preceding paragraph is true, and men are responsible for their actions, then what good is statement A?? What can you actually do with it, as a society? The answer is, statement A explains the outcomes. Statement A explains why more men than women end up in jail.
If someone comes along and says, "U bELieve StateMENt B butt thats SEXist!!! moar myn are in jAIL bekause systememetic SEXism against MEN!!!" - then you tell that person to fuck right off. The fact that more men are in jail is not evidence of systematic sexism against men. It's evidence of statement A.
And see, even though statement A is true, I was very clear that it is not an excuse for any man's behavior. Men have free will and a choice to be violent or not. Statement A is not making excuses for men. Ironically though, any idiot who thinks statement A = statement B, and then rejects it and jumps to the "systematic sexism against men" argument is making excuses for men. That's a person who will look at men in prison and say, "it's clearly not your fault - the system did this to you" - and that really is a problem.
Being poor makes you throw fireworks at homeless people? My family was very poor once and we never threw behaved like that. Progressives make way too many excuses for AA community behavior.
I stopped reading stuff like that, i can't handle the constant excuses (written by w*ite people probably) that they make for thus demographic. Always excuses for horrid behavior and it's never their fault.
> So given a few hundred pakistani muslims raped thousands of white british girls over 3 decades would we british be justified in tearing down mosques and attacking muslim owned businesses? Is that how it works now?

Being poor doesn't make you violent, but having nothing to lose makes it a hell of a lot easier.
2 Pepperglue 2020-06-24
Not being able to smoke weed tomorrow seems like a pretty big thing to lose.
2 HoBoLoBro 2020-06-24
I don't get poor people and weed. Seems like a stinky, messy, risky, and expensive cope.
1 Pepperglue 2020-06-24
The only smoke I accept is incense burning.

Tbf they are correct that it's cultural. The murder rate in africa is 13 per 100k. The murder rate in the us is 5 per 100k.
Considering 13 50, black american murder at about 5*7/2=17.5 so about 50% worse than africa. That difference can only be explained by culture.
1 tereria85 2020-06-24
I agree it's cultural, what im saying its progressives never wanna talk about that fact and keep making ither excuses.
