You see the same shit with the Bolsheviks and their attempts to destroy the family unit back in 1918. It backfired spectacularly and resulted in them slowly reinstating the same familial values all over again, which was actually largely restored under Stalin, ironically enough. It turns out that destroying the family unit was beginning to lead to demographic collapse. After Stalin, the state walked back some of the stronger natalist policies, but it never got close to what the Bolsheviks originally attempted at the start of the revolution.
