I've been thinking about angles to manufacture some drama. Here are some thoughts:

• Start posting in ProtectAndServe as some sort of tryhard asshole cop. After a consistent post history in PaS, start having some sort of meltdown in a news thread about police violence and then start messaging the cop haters racial epithets. Sit back and enjoy what comes next.
• Start posting in feminist subs about a pregnancy, and then later post in TwoXChromosomes that you had a revenge late term abortion because your husband wasn't woke enough / didn't believe in the wage gap or something like that

Subreddits aren't isolated fiefdoms anymore, and people that moderate one subreddit probably moderate a lot of them. When you mod a lot of stuff you meet a lot of other mods and you easily get sucked into the drama and general bullshit that any group of people will inevitably create.

We used to have a blanket ban on powermods but a few mods here gradually became powermods after starting out here and they still advocate for this subreddit and it's moderation policy despite it not being popular in any sense of the word.

Also there are off-site mod chats where all the mods hang out and smell each others' farts and is a constant source of drama/discontent/garbage so it's hard to not get involved in that realm.

If it makes you feel better that entire debacle was basically a joke. There was no actual ill intent behind it or or some kind of conspiracy to remove content from the website. They literally did it because they thought it was funny. While I didn't read YiffinHell I did see the conversations that lead to the "takeover" and it was all just kind of a stupid "prank" and they all smelled each others' farts over being able to pull it off.

As far as Corvus goes - they are a powermod for sure but they don't have any kind of agenda or personal war with any kind of content on Reddit like AHS mods do. They're a powermod because they're active and really nice so people like to invite them to stuff. Bunch-o reasons we went public again so soon.

• Deux getting banned created a vacuum for the type of content that we host and while we were not affiliated with them in any way it's important that there's a place on Reddit to laugh at stupid people doing stupid shit.

• The content in this sub while we're private may be better but it's slooooow. We have a tonne of approved users but we only average about 200 active views while private and the majority of people do not interact with the subreddit while it's private. There are basically no comments, few posts, and when something really juicy is happening it's just not as much fun to discuss it because there isn't really anyone there to discuss it with.

• Deux getting banned was alarming as they have always been the shittier version of this sub and were basically a canary in the coal mine for us but we have been reassured that we are not on any ban radar as far as the admins are concerned. We know some of the admins are actually regulars of this subreddit (albeit on alts) and going private to shield ourselves from scrutiny isn't really necessary anymore.

Thanks for the thorough response. Glad you guys are being proactive about keeping us not only alive but active. I hope that the admins will continue to be lenient with us in the future.
