PCOS is more or less when you get cysts on your ovaries. Mtf trans people are biologically incapable of getting the disease. I don't know how reddit does it, but it manages to exclusively signal boost the most idiotic and cringeworthy people from every possible demographic - I've never met a trans person in real life that insists that they are biologically the same as whatever they're transitioning to.
PCOS is a real medical condition which includes symptoms such as weight gain, excessive hair growth, acne and oily skin. So no, it's not fake, those are real things that TERFs have to live with.
I thought it was an excess fat and sugar consumption thing? I read an article concerning the biochemical mechanism that some women who overeat have that converts and triggers adverse endocrine activity
As with all medical conditions, there's a genetic component and an environmental component. Weight gain, insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome are involved in the pathogenesis of PCOS and symptoms can be improved by weight loss and dietary control. The literal cysts in their ovaries can't be fixed by just eating healthy tho.
Funnily enough, PCOS is caused by weight gain, rather than a symptom of it. It's a co-morbidity thing, where the correlation was misunderstood as a symptom rather than a root cause.
The word play in that thread really confused me. The people claiming they are not women but have the condition confused me until oops ftm. But then there are some whackos in there claiming biological women don't exist and then there is this. jeez
I might be alone in saying this, but honestly, I don't give a single shit about TERFs. Every movement has its outliers and critics, and anyone surprised by the existence of TERFs is just playing into the seethe.

only word I thought reading the comments was dumpster fire.
It was hard to know if someone is a TERF, if people were saying transwoman have PCOS too or they were saying transwoman dont have PCOS.

I think most people are saying they don't because they can't biologically.

It's kinda confusing. The terfs are mostly complaining about mtfs while the non terfs are complaining about ftms being excluded
1 Massive-Breadfruit 2020-07-05
I think an ovary condition inherently excludes ftms but maybe this is a teachable moment for me
1 Osterion 2020-07-05
Well obviously, but some of them pretend to have it cuz of hormones or some shit

Fat women were never going to be satisfied with fibromyalgia, the demand for fake medical conditions to blame being a ham planet on is very large!

Screening about troons is truly the best medicine for when having a whisky tenor; causes you to be called 'sir' over the phone again and again.

Oh yes... that’ll throw a major curveball at regulating hormones. Is it a chicken/egg situation with the cysts?

Your killing me. I didnt know what PCOS was before your explaination, and it was the second time I see this condition this week.
