I'm surprised to hear any of the cars they used in that series are still in one piece.

Every time the GE took a big jump and the Duke boys went all "YeeeeeHAAAH!" it would land and you would literally see the suspension just crumple to shit under two fucking tons of Detroit steel coming down so hard it made the TV shake.

a guy that owns the last one used stated he was going to remove the flag like 5 years ago. I think he still has it on the car though

You could barely see the flag most of the time anyway. In the original film the show was based on (The Moonrunners) the car was blue and called Traveller. Guess which historical figure had a horse with the same name...

It's a museum, for God's sake.

right? isn't that exactly where these things belong?

Leftoids one month ago: it’s ok the statues just belong in a museum! They shouldn’t be shown as something to look up to!

Leftoids now: RACIST MUSEUM RACIST MUSEUM

Leftoids three years ago were reeing at trump when he said "what's next, George Washington." And look where we are now.

The past decade has been literally one giant, looping series of motte-and-bailey tactics. The confederate flag is and has always been for massive losers and traitors that should be trialed, but it's actually incredible how much the Overton window moved for everything else in less than 5 years. Imagine the hysteric backlash you'd have gotten as recently as 2015 for toppling a Washington statue or publically telling a feminist that you'll make her choke on your girldick because she's a TERF and doesn't want to fuck you👨🏾‍🦽

I can't wait to see what's next.

Let's hope we don't Schumacher ourselves going down this 60° slope ⛷️. In any case, I'm glad drama has survived long enough to get to 2020. Whatever happens will be good for drama hobbyists like us. And to say we aren't even in November yet... 🥴

Whatever it is I doubt it involves black people becoming any less poor, sadly.

Who knows how much of this stuff is just because there's a broken middle class in the US. And all those issues get pushed like a meat grinder into faux social justice issues because it's low hanging fruit (statues, jokes on twitter) or politically run services (justice system, police).

There has been literally 0 actual reform. Think about that. At most we got local defunding measures that will probably not exist in a few months. Whereas better training, more oversight or better accountability can actually matter and create a permanent change, the budget cuts to some PDs can literally be reversed in a year and you're back to square 1. It's much harder to dismantle operational reforms than it is to just tweak the budget as the outrages fades or comes back.

It's insane, it's been more than a month and Americans were actually open to reform at first for once. And it's all been wasted on Seattle LARP or perpetual talk about corporations supporting BLM, someone somewhere being problematic or 200 years old statues. LMFAO

No one has the attention span to actually accomplish anything. It's George Floyd one day, statues the next, videos of white people holding guns on their property.

People way more interested in gotcha'ing Karens than working on fixing systemic abuse of power. Why fight the Police Unions when you can just cancel some 60 year old white chicks instead?

Over correction any day now

People on reddit really out here pretending like a fascistic, no holds barred America would even effect their life in the least.

We're literally a nation of traitors though I always thought that argument fell a bit flat

Yeah, but the revolutionaries won. So they weren't traitors anymore, they were independent.

But when you start shit because you are so obsessed with blackies that you ending up causing the deaths of 800k of your fellow americans and still lose all of that because you don't want slavery to end and have to actually work for once in your lazy life. Yeah then you're a traitor and a very lame one too lmao.

Washington fought for freedom and for what he thought would be the betterment of humanity throughout radically new and empowering ideals/rights. Confederates didn't want to pick cotton and did everything they could to terrorize anyone that disagreed even before the war.

Yeah, but the revolutionaries won.

That doesn't mean they stopped being traitors

So they weren't traitors anymore

That's not how this works. They were always traitors against the crown.

No, the moment the treaty of Paris was signed they had no affiliation with the crown and couldn't be traitors to a crown that didn't rule over them.

Another way to put it is that the revolutionaries wanted to break off from the UK to be emancipated and free from tyranny from a distant regime that they had no say in. They weren't betraying the crown so much as the crown was betraying them by not doing it's duty of ensuring its subjects are granted the rights they were entitled to have. I mean even the English parliament executed a king a century earlier claiming he betrayed his people by breaching the agreement between himself and his subjects. yeah the uk didn't recognize those rights for the 13 colonies but the Americans just weren't convinced that they shouldn't be entitled to those rights too just because they are in a colony.

The confederates on the other hand are pure backstabbing traitors. They were equals to the north politically, they had an outsized political influence on DC, they were not oppressed or neglected by Washington. They were simply buttmad that democracy wasn't going their way and decided to kill their fellow americans because they couldn't get their way in a fairly equal system. There was no breach of the social contract from DC, it was 100% a southern aggression to impose their point of view at all cost.

Sounds like traitor cope

Imagine stanning for the brits 🤭

Imagine taking a knee for the burgers.

"Treason ne'er doth prosper: what's the reason?
"For if it prosper, none dare call it treason."

You know, if the Confederates marched to Washington and won the war, we'd be saying that of course the Northerners were overreaching, that the United States could never survive whole, that they got what they deserved for infringing upon the liberty of states to administer themselves and infringing upon the god-given right to individual property.

It would've been the victory of a noble cause, fighting for freedom against an oppressive government. People would just laugh if anyone from our world said "You can't fight for the right to freely hold slaves". It wouldn't make sense to them. Of course liberty is about political freedom, not universal rights! That's what freedom means, stupid!

This is what it means for history to be written by the victors. Definitions and narratives change.

No. I mean maybe the narrative would be different but it still wasnt the north that started the war or seceded first. It would have been spun up to make slavery being so essential that rebellion was needed, but the facts are the north was pushing for compromise and compromised a lot. The South didn't and never accepted anything but their way.

No, everything changes.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Civil_War#Outbreak_of_the_war

"It was the Northerners who violated our sovereignty and the evil Republican party who REFUSED the reasonable Crittenden Compromise and sabotaged later efforts to retain peace. It was the Tyrant Lincoln (well-know for his love of conscription - slavery by another name and his hatred for habeas corpus) who forced the war by refusing to acknowledge the Confederate government and sign a peace treaty, preventing a peaceful separation with his insistence on manning forts and refusing offers to purchase federal organizations. It is an obvious provocation to man forts inside another sovereign state, making war inevitable."

There are a load of holes in this argument but my point is that 'starting the war' and 'seceding first' are amorphous concepts that are nothing without context. For the South, it was obviously a righteous war. If they won, it would obviously have been a good thing in retrospect.

People don't go to war without a convincing reason and history can massage any victory into an obviously righteous one. Look how many Americans still sympathize with the Confederates: despite losing and having the opposite side's narrative taught in schools, their narrative still remains!

Bruh that's pure southern mental gymnastics. "The North started the war by electing someone we don't like in a democracy, we attacked the north in self defense because not doing exactly what we want them to do is Tyranny". Jesus even their cope justifications for being traitors and propaganda was shit, they are just describing how democracy works lmfao.

It really just goes to show that I was right, even in a confederate victory there was no way to hide that they actually attacked the north and started a war because they didn't get it their way. 🙃

If we had stayed part of Bongland slavery would have ended a lot earlier so technically the civil war was Washington's fault

traitors that should be trialed

Cope

whole treasounous southern states get absolutely violated and annihilated by chads like Sherman after starting a whitoid r/antiwork sperg war

Deep south never recovered and is still a shithole, mostly because lazy whites couldn't fathom actually working (to the point they started the war to not work 🤭) and rebuilding

B-but guys the Unionists are the ones actually coping haha, i still get to wave a flag so it's like we won

Sherman didn't go hard enough on the traitors.

Turbo cope

So we made a thoroughfare for freedom and her train,

Treason fled before us, for resistance was in vain

Someone needs to finish his march

Thank you for bringing up motte and bailey. Had never heard of it, looked it up, and I am now smarter and more equipped to own the libs, as they say 😎

Yeah and you'll start seeing it everywhere. Rightoids usually just full on say what they believe in and will at least honestly tell you that they hate a minority or that browns are inferior.

Far Leftoids/race crazed spergs on the other hand will say stupid and radical shit and then blame you for "spreading fear" or believing "slippery slopes" if you just take them for their words. I don't believe in muh marxist conspiracy but it is very reminiscent of wingcucked marxist debate tactics lmao

"Defund the police and abolish prisons"<-bailey

"Oh dude no one actually means defund the police or close all the prisons when they say to defund the police, calm down. When we say defund we mean reduce the budgets to increase social spending, duh. And abolish prisons is acshually just abolishing prison for non violent crimes! Stop spreading misinformation" <- motte

Or the whole "White lives dont matter" tweet by the academic, which served as the bailey followed by "wow you're stupid, she just meant white lives don't matter because of their whiteness because whiteness is a very meaningless concept, calm down" being the nice convenient motte.

Shut up. That's a slippery slope fallacy. Yes, it happened but it's still a fallacy. Yes, the goalposts and the demands change weekly now but... correlation does not mean causation! People were scared of muh slippery slope during the debate around gendered toilets but surprise surprise, the bigots were wrong again(if you ignore the past 5 years).

Acting as if this is what people on the left think? The vast majority support putting shit like this in a museum. Just because shitty media outlets write this, doesn’t mean it has anything to do with reality.

It's not your turn to speak, sweaty.

It must be exhausting for the left to be outraged at everything. I think the best thing to do is ignore them and not reinforce bad behavior by complying. They aren't the type to visit a museum anyway, let alone learn from history.

... they were talking about actual monuments to real people and a war that a very complicated conversation revolves around. I personally think its fine to phase the flag out of popular culture and there's no need to enshrine a car from a cringe sitcom from 30 years ago. I know im going to get blasted for this because Drama is kinda rightoid these days but just imagine if like... during an episode of The Big Bang Theory one of those little nerds showed up with a ISIS flag, how crazy would that be? how weird would it be to go to a museum with your kinds in 40 years and see it there? wouldn't that be really fucked?

Reee they cannot 'belong' you are tolerating evil reee

The paranoid in me suggests that certain interests want to erase any comparisons that might be made with their own plans.

Most of the participants in Iconoclast moral panics like this are just useful idiots trying to keep the mob off their back, or the moral busybodies who profit off the panic.

The "journalist" calling up museums and asking why the General Lee is on display there is firmly in camp #2.

Now that "Karen" is played out, "busybody" is overdue for a comeback.

I'm gonna start calling people Mrs. Grundy.

It's way too long, but I'm increasingly drawn towards "self-appointed hall monitor"

No

Imagine wanting to tear down confederate symbols when Auschwitz still exists lmfao

It's literally a museum. You don't see statues of Auschwitz in Polish city squares.

Give them time

I do, but I’m not a reliable witness on this

I do, but I’m not a reliable witness on this

No biggie, the Holocaust is filled with all manner of unreliable eyewitnesses. The eyewitness account of the caged eagle and bear fighting over their daily )ew is an interesting one. Oh! There's also the eye witness accounts of a steam death chamber and, of course, the infamous human skin lampshades and the eyewitness accounts of Nazi's making human soap. So don't worry so much about your unreliableness. Hell, even Elie Wiesel made up some pretty big numbers.

Lmao all those references to very obscure Holocaust denial justifications only prove that you are terminally online

references to very obscure Holocaust denial

Ah yes, obscure references.

How about this Holocaust Memoir that was a best seller in France and was to be made into a movie.

Or how about this tall Holocaust tale peddled by a guy named Rosenblat on Oprah Winfrey whose only justification was "it was real in my mind" (lmao).

Let's not forget this guy who wrote a classic of Holocaust literature, surely a classic can't be obscure!

Or the one by Joe Corry who wrote 'The living and dead evidence of horror and brutality beyond one’s imagination was there,’... 'People were lying, crawling and shuffling about, in stinking ankle-deep mud and human excrement.’ which you can promptly add to a list of shit that never happened.

If I get to a laptop I could easily drop five thousand words of the most laughable bullshit eyewitness accounts taken directly from the Nuremberg transcripts. The amount of bullshit is truly endless.

Woah, these are pretty obscure for a surface dweller like myself. Takes more than a few scummy people trying to get book deals and world fame through lies and deceit to get me to start the ol' holocaust denyin', though. I think those come with ANY tragedy, world event, epidemic, you name it.

Drug abuse: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Million_Little_Pieces . Is drug abuse fake now?

Misoginy and feminicide in the Middle East: https://www.smh.com.au/entertainment/books/bestsellers-lies-exposed-20040724-gdjerm.html . Misoginy is now cancelled.

You get the idea. https://theoutline.com/post/7064/all-the-sad-young-literary-fakes-dan-mallory-aj-finn?zd=1&zi=v5jw6xha

I'd be very interested in this other evidence from the transcripts, though.

LMAO who the fuck are you

This is awkward... 😒

Greetings,

The holocaust is real and kindly go fuck yourself.

Yea but you do see German planes

And that's a bad thing

Auschwitz isn't in burgerstan so they can't conceive of its existence they think it's a fairytale place

Imagine wanting to keep up participation trophies of Civil War runners-up 😅😅😅

Preserving history isn’t the same as propping up the losers of a war.

The Pearl Harbor Museum has sections on the Axis Powers, but those aren’t “participation trophies” for fascist; they’re showing what actually happened in history, so those who weren’t alive back then can know what happened and understand the context for historical events.

Are there statues of imperial Japanese in front of public offices in Hawaii? Based

That wouldn’t be comparable to a Confederate statues and the U.S., so that would make no sense

The Duke boys were beloved anti police advocates so I think it's okay.

knee jerk reaction

🤭

THOSE PROBLEMATIC THINGS SHOULD BE IN MUSEUMS, NOT ON STREET CORNERS!

WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS PROBLEMATIC THING DOING IN A MUSEUM?

It's not like any real people were saying the statues and w/e belong in a museum. Only redditors were saying that.

Wait until she finds out that some of the aircraft in the Smithsonian have swastickas on them 👀

what's the black version of Karen?

'karen' has lost its meaning like 'incеl'. Just call any woman you want a karen, instead of a bitсh. Use "karen is a behavior" justification

I honestly think it's morphed into becoming just a slur for white women. I love the infighting it's so nice.

Imagine , one day your legit legal name turns into a slur... 🤣🤣🤣

"Journalism"

Every new example of it makes me more repulsed, was it always this bad? Did it ever do anything good? Upton Sinclair? Bob Woodward? Was it always this same utter shite?

No, it’s just Critical Theory doing its thing.

Journalism throughout history has always had its issues and the mainstream journalism of our era has Critical Theory as it’s huge issue.

The tiny problem is that Critical Theory’s goal is something nearing authoritarian socialism.

Critical theory is a far left example of using our own liberal freedom of speech rights against people.

( The same way neonazis use freedom of speech enshrined by liberal freedom of speech rights and call for undemocratic laws)

Well Upton Sinclair did some good with his book. The FDA is crazy important and without his expose it wouldn't exist. Even if his original intention behind publishing the book was to advocate for workers rights, he still caused some good to happen.

Read this, it will make you love journalists even more. 🙃

https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-July-2020-Twitter-spat-between-Taylor-Lorenz-and-Balaji-S-Srinivasan-really-about

The whole blue checkmark clique backed the journalist and wrote hit pieces about muh journalist oppression. Actually a little bit crazy how they just dogpiled on the people involved even if she was literally lying. All of that because pajeet told her she's a privileged whiny bitch. Queue the tired "muh techbros, muh evil tech, no criticism allowed" talking points:

https://www.vice.com/en_in/article/n7w3zw/silicon-valley-elite-discuss-journalists-having-too-much-power-in-private-app

TV, the Internet and websites like reddit where people read only the title and get outraged really did a number on printed media and jurnalism as a whole. So they just post whatever they can that brings clicks, which is partially to blame for media being the way it is now.

It's really fallen down from the glory days of Spain blowing up the USS Maine and Walter Duranty's brave reporting on the USSR's economic miracles

It just gets more absurd with every passing minute, doesn't it?

I wonder when they're going to start demanding Reader's Digest be cancelled for featuring Norman Rockwell pieces in 1944.

Jay Leno is some kind of freak. He's got a head at least twice as big as any human head should be. I refuse to accept that any human woman could give birth to him and live. He must be the child of Yog Sothoth.
