Terminal means that you're going to die. If your cancer has spread to your liver, you're incurable, especially if it's a cancer as agressive as pancreatic cancer. Not only that, her cancer is only being treated with gemcitabine as opposed to a more agressive chemo regimen like FOLFIRINOX. There's an extremely good chance she won't be alive around election time.
She literally recovered from liver cancer a decade ago. Maybe they're opting for less aggressive treatment because it's less severe. I dont know. I'm not a doctor.
