The point is, all of their "strategy" seems to boil down to "be more picky." It's fascinating to me. They're femcels, and their cunning plan to fix that is to be more picky. They talk about "high value men" but there doesn't seem to be a single thought given to the fact that, should they ever find one of these unicorns, he is by definition going to have other women besides you chasing him. Why should he pick you - that's the only strategy that matters.

My bf and I have been dealing with a rogue pet who was causing some issues due to an illness. Basically, pet has an issue and has been soiling everything in the house. Little guy is OK and on antibiotics now so he'll recover - but he's still causing messes. Messes that my BF wouldn't let me clean up, even though I offer, even though cleaning them takes time that BF does not have because of his schedule (and I do! Plus it's my pet but anyways). BF had been extremely stressed over the pet issues because of his schedule and work load plus self-inflicted primary care of cat (again, I wanted to take care of my pet and he kept refusing to let me), and had been a bit rough in tone with me - nothing major, mostly just grumpy asshole-ness but entirely unacceptable to me after my history with DV. I mean nobody is going to be happy while cleaning up endless pet piss, it's understandable to be grumpy, but my tone towards him is kind and there's not reason to accept something different from him. It came to a head yesterday morning before I went to work, when he gave me a bit of attitude over what I wanted to do with my animal. I told him under no circumstances was it ok for him to treat me like that or use that tone with me, that I wasn't about to be his verbal punching bag, and left. He sent me lots of "I love you" texts during the day, which I ignored because there was no apology and I was ready to walk if I didn't get one. Last night, he brought me flowers and sincerely apologized for his actions and thanked me for calling him out and said he knew he had to be a better man and deal with the stress in a healthier way, because it wasn't anyone's fault. Call them out, take no shit. I was prepared to leave if I didn't get that apology and still will if he does it again!

I totally realize most people are going to disagree with me here but I feel compelled to say that closing the sub for a joke wasn't a very kind thing to do. We have seen TONS of posts from vulnerable populations talking about how this sub is a source of support and humor in a dark time. Irony and dirtbagism aside, taking away that support without warning was not okay.

You can say I'm being silly, or humorless or reactionary. Whatever. I love the show and I love this community. But sometimes I come home after dealing with ableism and our nightmare reality all day, and this sub is one of many things that make me feel better. It wasn't a good feeling to find this sub closed for the sake of irony. Maybe that's laughable or pathetic. But for me, it's true.
