Remember hoarding toilet paper?

What the fuck was that about? I didn't myself but it was weird to see everyone do that and then immediately forget. And now to look back and see old posts casually referencing that brief transition period.

Then again this was back when masks did nothing and you were irresponsibly wasting valuable resources by using one.

I remember going to a kroger that first night of panic buying just to observe the spectacle and it was worth it. People were arguing with their significant others and each other, some just had a blank stare, and some of us looked like kids at a circus. That was the moment I realized America will eventually kill itself.

I enjoyed taking note of what people were panic-buying. Toilet paper stocks were empty, but baby diapers generally weren't, and pet food never was. I don't have kids or pets, but if I did have either, those would be the items I'd be stockpiling, not TP. If worse comes to worse, you can improvise toilet paper a lot easier than you can diapers or pet food.

I had to resort to using kleenex for a day or two because everyone was completely out and I was stupid and didn't just get some when everyone else did. Luckily no toilet clogs came from it.

I still stockpile cats, no regrets

Oh hell yeah. I'm on my fourth after that last second one died.

RIP Bucky. I hope Bones is OK.

Post cats.

My therapist recommends I only post one cat a week.

Burgers.

It's actually made a brief return recently where I am. Costco near me sold all 21 pallets on delivery day and the kroger only had 1 ply sandpaper left.

Just uncultured poorcels who couldn't afford a bidet.

I had actually been debating buying a bidet after returning from Japan but decided against it because me bathroom is not well set up for it. A couple months later I'm regretting it as I was low on toilet paper right as the stockpiling started and the price of bidets had tripled in the meantime.

Dunno why burgers refuse to install hoses in their bathrooms.

Use a dry paper to clean your ass is gross.

Come to think of it I could use a longer hose.

It’s actually making a comeback. I went to a grocery store the other day and it had a huge TP shortage. I think some ppl are scared DD(D) is gonna lock us up 😢

The hoarders turned me into a hoarder because I always just kept 1 bag (Contonelle of course) and 1 package of paper towels. Now I make sure to have a 6 months supply.

I live in a place with a history of disasters (both natural and man-made), so I was already in the habit of keeping at least a month of food, water, and other supplies on hand. I started freaking out about Covid before most other people did, and began buying a bit more of everything each time I went shopping. I didn't think I was hoarding, because I wasn't doing it all at once, but after a couple of months of doing that, I looked at everything I'd amassed and realized that I had totally been hoarding. If everybody else had stockpiled resources the same way I had, then some people would have gone hungry, and that's the definition of hoarding.

Okay, why the fuck am I seriousposting in this subreddit of all places? Did we go public again?

Each individual amerishart goes through a roll a day so the idea of them running out of tp or having to use a bidet horrifies them enough to hoard.

Stupid fucking scrubs who never faced adversity and never had to worry about running out of paper before. This was abundantly clear because coffee filters, nature's backup TP, were still in high supply everywhere.

Though I'm glad somebody else remembers that the same people wanting arrests for not wearing masks right now were spreading information about how useless they were for civilians earlier in the year.

There were shortages again this month. Every spike causes panic buying.

Was this inspired by my recent Love For Scalpers post?

People thought the pandemic was gonna be like a hurricane

Not understanding the beauty of wet wipe.
