In all this flurry of crazy Washington drama you may have heard about a little fury about lawmakers now being subjected to metal detectors themselves. This is the reason why. More details in comments.

Ok, so I know everyone banters around the r-slur a lot, we all are, but this is, genuinely r-slurred. Even before the car accident.

He's just been recently elected one of the youngest members of congress "He is the youngest member of Congress since Jed Johnson Jr. and the first born in the 1990s".

He was born and HOME-SCHOOLED in Hendersonville, NC. Redneckville. An extremely, unfortunately redneck, uneducated rural section of western NC.

He was home-schooled and r-slurred just because of his upbringing, and by a lucky shot nominated to attend the Naval Academy --- AND REJECTED.

Now a whole group of uneducated rural North Carolinians elected him rep (partially out of pity because he's in a wheelchair) and I'm telling you, he was r-slurred before the car accident, even worse since.

In 2014, at age 18, Cawthorn was injured while returning from a spring break trip in Florida. He was a passenger in an SUV on Interstate 4 near Daytona Beach when his friend fell asleep at the wheel and the SUV crashed into a concrete barrier.[11][12] The injuries left Cawthorn partially paralyzed, and he now uses a wheelchair.[5] He accrued $3 million in medical debt during his recovery.[13] His friend's insurance company offered him $3 million to cover his medical treatment, but Cawthorn sued the company for $30 million. A judge later ruled in the insurer's favor.

Just read his whole wiki if you wanna know more, but take my word for it, it's sad and funny at the same time.

Why did he sue the insurance company? That doesn't make sense in the slightest.

Ledford’s insurance carrier, Auto-Owners Insurance, offered Cawthorn $3 million, the policy limit, to cover his treatments and settle the claim within days of the crash, according to testimony and court records. But under the advice of his lawyer, Cawthorn initially balked at accepting the $3 million and sued Ledford’s insurance company for $30 million for acting in bad faith.

....

The candidate also revealed in the deposition that he had been unsuccessful in his later enrollment at Patrick Henry College in Purcellville, Virginia, a small evangelical Christian school often attended by homeschoolers and that has a reputation for successfully placing graduates into high federal government positions.

After entering the school in August 2016 to study political science, he dropped out after one semester and earned mostly D’s, Cawthorn testified, primarily because his injuries interfered with his ability to learn.

Mark my words this guy is gonna get caught standing up and walking around at some point.

At least rightoids are progressive when it comes to electing the mentally handicapped.

Dude has a very muscular GF.

😂 I’ve been to hendersonville multiple times. This dude fits the stereotype.

Shouldn't cripples be armed tho? It's not like they can run away.

I can’t help but feel like people like that have had abusive childhoods. It’s the social equivalent of smearing faeces on the walls. Intentionally doing things that are weird and unpleasant for everyone involved just to provoke (justified) negative attention.

Ammosexuals shouldn't even be considered people

Why hasn't congress been vaccinated yet, are some of them just refusing to get it?
