It tickles my memory that something like this might have happened before, even without social media to amplify bullshit.
I know this sounds ridiculous, and I say it half jokingly, but I blame Steve Jobs, Tim Cook and Apple for this.
Even though I know that the internet was going to become too easy to access or at least speculated years ago that pressing a power button and clicking a pretty little icon on a screen was gonna lead to trouble.
Too many people brainwashed by bullshit.
edit: I predicted this years ago, even before Linus Torvalds realized ChromeOS would be the "day of linux on the desktop (that's my other great prediction that I saw before anyone wants to admit it or talk about it)
The Americanization of the Kraut mind has been going on for a long time. You Burgers don't know how wide it runs. Fuck I have seen a Turkish woman talk about racism in Germany and end her talk with the words "but nothing I say has value since I am white" like she is on a US campus. I have seen stores selling US military branded apparel to hobbyists like everyone larps as a Burger in his free time. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser gate. Even lefties are not immune, and a strain of them, I assume, proudly show the US flag.
