Every career politician since the foundation of the CIA has been an absolute ghoul and getting outraged about it won't do anything except negatively impact your quality of life. Go buy yourself a Weber kettle or a Pit Barrel Jr. and learn how to stop and smell the pecan.
If you are smoking chicken or something small, fruit and nut woods impart a nice flavor. If you are smoking something that takes longer say a pork shoulder or especially brisket you should use something milder like oak or hickory.
If you have a basic grill just use that and get a little smoke box to experiment with. If you like drinking and want an excuse to do it at 6am tho its pretty dope.
It's versatile and doesn't have a ton of character. Honestly though only thing that has a reliably distinct flavor is mesquite (and sort of hickory). Everyone on the internet loves to jack off about brisket, and brisket's fine if you like spending lots of money and dying young, but the real magic is proper Sonora-style mesquite-grilled carne asada 🤌

We're already at a point where describing things that Biden and Harris have said or done--stuf that objectively, demonstrably happened and is matter of public record--can get you shunted out of public life, labeled a fascist or a racist or a conspiracy theorist.
The political media has only one job for the next four years and that's propping up an image of these two gormless psychopaths that's completely divorced from who these people actually are. And you have to go along with it. You have to go along with it. You have to go along with it.

This is the way. If you have a Weber kettle get a slow n sear or some charcoal baskets and a fire brick, and if you have a gas grill get one of these.
