With DDR out of office, Twitter finally embraces radical centrism.

Pretty expected tbh. Got to ban some leftoids to make your company look impartial. Same thing as when Chapo got yeeted with The_Donald.

useful idiots suddenly learning what happens after they stop being useful

Leftoids get banned all the time on twitter when they break the rules, they just don’t bitch and moan about it as much as rightoids do and just make another account.

depends on the variety of leftoid lmao ive seen lots of seethe from some types

"HOW COULD THEY BAN ME!?!?!?!?!?!?!? DON'T THEY KNOW I'M ON THEIR SIDE!?!?!?!?!?!?!"

they just don’t bitch and moan about it as much as rightoids do and just make another account

Absolutely incorrect

Cope. Leftoids don’t fly into instant 1984posting when @catboystalin1917 gets yeeted off twitter for posting another “kulaks deserved it” meme the same way rightoids do whenever one of their ecelebs gets banned for holocaust denial.

Oh no. They bitch and whine and sulk and dial back the behavior until they get riled up again, then the cycle repeats.

Leftoids are not reported as much as rightoids.

If it didn't mean looking at Twitter I'd suggest we fix that problem just for the drama it will cause.

And? This is about when they get banned not how often they get banned.

Are you fucking kidding? They usually start crying that the websites are pro fascist or something. AHS screams every time a leftoid sub gets banned and says reddit never everrr bans the nazis.

More like now that they won the election the useful idiot leftists are no longer useful. Now they can get rid of the riffraff they've been putting off.

I'm pretty sure Bernie's already been packed back up in the attic.

Oh yes, everyone knows antifa is very useful to the democratic party.

Of course pizza doesn't understand what a useful idiot is.

I wonder why? 🤔

I'll bite: how is antifa useful to the Dems? By starring in GOP attack ads? By burning down starbucks so shitlibs can't get their mochaccino? By awkwardly reminding black voters that the baizuo are fucking r-slurs who pay them lip service and then turn around and do shit to make the black folks' lives more difficult?

I mean I know what the term means, but my point is antifa is of literally no use to the democratic party, as in they provide literally no benefit.

If they're useful idiots for anyone, it's the Republican party.

They also locked China's embassy's account and straight up banned just about every government account that Venezuela has. I would post links to news articles but the automod apparently thinks Reuters and CNBC are Reddit.

Twitter locks China's embassy's account

Twitter fucking bans the Venezuelan government including their national assembly

I would seriouspost and say that Twitter just can't be considered a private entity anymore if they are acting lockstep in what the state department would do if they could do it themselves but dude lmao.

Oh my god I'm not even linking to the site.

congratulations to antifa! now that they have officially defeated fascism forever, there's no more reason for them to exist

exist

I just took this class on Plato and I've got real bad news for you about ideas...

don't be silly! with DD(R) gone, fascism is no more!

The cows are long overdue for a good milking.

Once again I would like to come in front of you all and and say that I predicted this, but automoderator cucked that comment.

Social media companies are realizing that the public and powers that be are not going to tolerate them broadcasting the hysterical violent ravings of the general public to the audience of the entire world. We'll see how far this goes, but I'm hoping normie tier social media platforms are reduced down to the level of Lifetime originals. At this point FB and Twitter execs are probably sweating bullets and trying to escape the heavy hand of regulation.

And oh god the tankies and chapos are going to screech about it.

I hold the opposite opinion, funny enough.

The line between corporation and nation has blurred to near nothingness here in the US, and I think Twitter suddenly fucking with Iran/China/Venezuela's accounts just as soon as Biden takes office formalizes that. Currently Twitter is acting as if it's run by the state department, and I don't think that's because they fear the government. I think that's because big tech understands that they more or less are an unofficial branch of the government, and they are acting accordingly.

I can see that perspective. That's a big scary one.

I think the outcome of the Google antitrust case is going to set the relationship between the big tech companies and the government. If Biden decides to make the case go away, we're likely to see a collusive and very corrupt relationship. If the case goes ahead and guts or breaks up google, I believe we'll see a much more antagonistic relationship, with much heavier regulation (which will be badly written and do extraordinary damage to smaller businesses and organizations).

Given the scale of their influence at this point, giving that power to the US government is a terrifying thought. The Eurangotans might have objections to this, but who else are they going to get their software from? China?

I don't think that breaking up big tech will do much in the way of censorship because those companies will still be run by the same people with the same nanny-state sorta attitudes. Plus it's VERY convenient for the government to use social media to censor inconvenient opinions without it being a 1st amendment issue. A loophole.

Basically in the east you have a state-run social credit system, but here in the west, that system is privatized just as Reagan would have wanted. If I had to pick my poison... Well, at least China is set to have a very good century. Us? Not so much.

Do you ever think we will see a decentralized form of internet again where the dangers of social media cause people to flee to smaller online communities, safe away from giant spotlights?

Ehhhh... I don't know think so tbh. There is kinda no motivation for social media to not be used to form narratives. Plus being in smaller online communities doesn't mean no one else still isn't spying on you, if that is what you were asking.

I think the best case scenario is that, a generation or two from now, we view the internet in general in the same way we view alcohol or any other addictive substance. Something that -can- be enjoyable or helpful but also potentially quite dangerous.

Antifa Sacramento railed against The Base’s suspension on its own Twitter.

I was told it was an idea not an organization by f-slur soylent latte twinks for the last 4 years 🤔🤔🤔

How can they have a San Francisco specific branch of themselves if that’s the case?

I'm past the point of partisan garbage and ive been exposing myself to many ideas and ive found generally both sides have a partial truth -----so there actually might be some weight to this george soros shit ----- my question is, is there anyone on earth that is talked about more than george soros that talks less than george soros does
