I'm not sure but I think that it's something like having a system consisting of 10 coins that can face one of two ways, that has heads have more energy than tails. Then you have entropy (the number of microstates per macro-observable quantity) peak at "five coins showing heads" (252 out of 1024 total) and adding more energy actually reduces entropy. I can imagine doing that with spins or magnetic domains.
