Among the citizens, the greatest of them must surely be those auxiliaries - the ones who moderate reddit. Within that order, the most important are the guardians who moderate while spreading the truth about HBO's grimdark epic fantasy adaptation, the tits and dragons show.

Socrates:

Any arty types want to make a Targaryen 3-head dragon flag but with the colors and sharp angles of the 1935 - 1945 German flag? The show was too nuanced for those Targ fanatics.

Adeimantus:

I mean, I would...but then Daenerys' more rabid followers would zerg rush me, with many accusations of being a mean nazi. And since I dont agree with naziism... they'd eat me alive.

Socrates:

You would merely be mean to Nazis and or those who are oblivious to allegories about Nazis.

Adeimantus:

To clarify my own position on Daenerys: I think she was a tragic heroine, who honestly tried to be good, and knew she had capacity for monstrosity but went out of her way to restrain it...until King's Landing; at which point she'd been through so much trauma she made face-heel turn. Many Daeny fans assert that the trauma and/or the Good Intentions justified the massacre. It doesnt. I pity her for not having been raised better.

Socrates:

So ... the show. They recreated Nuremberg Rally (I think they were racing VWs) and had her give a speech about conquering the world.

Now, onto Chancellor Hitler. He didn't get up one morning in the 1920s and say "I am going to ruin my surname and this jaunty style of moustache for generations to come!"

No. He was going to struggle for Germany. "It's the title of my book, available now on Audible.com." He was going to rectify the malaise in the country, avenge WWI, violently reduce diversity, and set up an empire that would last a thousands years. Did not work out. He was bullied by communists so badly that he was driven to suicide.

Hitler is a very dire example of the dangers of absolute power, cult of personality, blood libel etc. Some people support him, some people loved him, he did what he believed he needed to do.

Daenerys is not exactly Hitler. So she is not literally Hitler or exactly an allegorical Hitler. It the more general problem of the pursuit of absolute power with the ultimate aim of being a benevolent dictator.

The unusual and controversial choice Game Of Thrones was to show her in a sympathetic way. Similar to how her followers admire her, and how she feels she did what she did, especially when she made mistakes in anger. Approximately half the audience resented this as a trick played on them.

About the books the show was based on: We may never get a planned ending to the book series. Daenerys Targaryen is never significantly described from the perspective of another character. Most of the other perspective characters meet several other perspective characters. It's a very criss-crossed graph. Kelly C stands alone.

It's over for freefolkcels.

The preferred nomenclature is 'Wildlings sworn to celibacy.'

"Here I saw the brow of Adeimantus, and it was thick with sweat, tired and beaten down by the noonday sun, and it was clear that he was sick and tired of reading my posts"
