I never understood this. Like I don't get the appeal of Black Panther, he's not a Black American hero, he is a Black African hero. I'd even say it has racist undertones. A good comparison is image comics Al Simmons or Spawn. Not only is the character a Black American man but one of the first things that happens to him is he gets betrayed by the government, which he served loyally. Maybe I am reading to much into it, but always was a well written story and despite being cape shit, it's cape shit, without the shit.
Why do rightoid political comics always have this “I-I’m not seething, YOU’RE seething” energy? Its there in leftoid and centroid comics too but it never feels as in your face because of all the words words words and smugness respectively.
Because rightoids are predominantly thin-skinned boomers who grew up semi-illiterate and understand modern popular culture about as well as they do their cable remote.
They let Xbox live and YouTube comment sections babysit their kids and now they simply don't possess the ability to hide their seethe from the two or three youngest generations, whose only real talent is being annoying shits online and pushing people's buttons.
Leftoids use academic language to hide their seethe. You can say how Pepe promotes blah blah blah alt right pipeline and make it sound like you’re just a concerned citizen. Then with centrists they’re at least consistent so it sounds like they’ve got a point. Everyone should embrace seething.
