Washington "is full of Jews," the president asserted. "Most Jews are disloyal." He made exceptions for some of his top aides, such as national security adviser Henry Kissinger, his White House counsel, Leonard Garment, and one of his speechwriters, William Safire, and then added:
"But, Bob, generally speaking, you can't trust the bastards. They turn on you. Am I wrong or right?"
It's not wrong. Lots of them just want Jews out of their country (or just want an ethnostate). Israel is the easiest way to accomplish that and could itself demonstrate the viability of ethnostates in general.
Only on the surface. Black Separatist organizations have worked with groups like the KKK in the past because they both want races to be separate and all that. Obviously full blown neonazis aren’t going to be pro-Israel because all of their conspiracy bs revolves around Israel but more “moderate” far right types are cool with Israel because it gives jews a place to fuck off to in their minds.
Most evangelicals don't know any Jews and really can't be anti-Semitic. They honestly think a sizeable portion of them are like their conservative heroes Shapiro, Medved and Savage. My 70 yo coworker loves Israel as was shocked to hear most Jews are Democrats. "But the Democrats are anti-Semites- they want to destroy Israel!" They use the term "Judeo-Christian values" a lot to describe what they consider the American ethos. I see the connection between the two religions but anything they share with each other is shared with Muslims as well.
Even accepting the premise as true, is being politically adversarial to most American Jews really "anti-Semitic?" I don't think Nixon has any problems with the Jewish faith or their physical appearance. He just seemed to be at odds with them domestically.
I don't think you necessarily have to know members of a group in order to hate them. Couldn't one be antisemitic towards the idea of the Jew as it has been taught to them? Historically, a lot of antisemitism has been based on Judiasm as a concept, rather than specifically directed toward individuals. For example a surprisingly large portion of pre-WWII European Christians believed that Jewish men kidnapped Christian children on Passover and used their blood to make matzo. You don't have to know an individual to view their group identity as an evil force.
Similarly, Nixon may have perceived a difference between the idea of Jewish faith and the individuals who practiced it, leading to different treatment of countries and individuals.
Several of the most prominent pro-Israel voices in the states are pretty explicit that they want Jews to control the holy land because it’s a prerequisite for Jesus to come back and kill them all.
This is so commonly brought up by progressives on twitter and Reddit, but I've never seen anyone outside of a couple fringe evangelical grifters actually say this shit. The much more common take is that a lot of right0ids support Israel simply because they bomb Arabs, no end times Revelation conspiracy beliefs involved.
