Who is trying to tell Uncle Ted something about tslurs? It's becoming a theme lol and the person doing it doesn't realize that their comment has been removed and the rest of us can't see it, because they themselves can see them and are a bit too slow to even consider that this is not a universal experience.
All my investments are in various agricultural futures so I don’t understand this. Did they literally say they were going to make a Bitcoin thing but instead just take the money people gave them to do that and do a runner
no seriously, why would you go through the trouble of learning about and investing in ag futures when you necessarily learn about how to invest in less complicated and more interesting stuff along the way?
Imagine being blue pilled on the crop failure question. I'll spoon feed you, buy ag staple futures, buy a cargo crate full of locusts, release them on the fields, own a contract entitling you to more wheat than exists, become king. It's like it's your first day in investing. Do better.
Seriously? I massively exaggerated because most of my investments are in safe but boring vehicles, but I picked up a bit about futures working for a British agricultural finance institution and have some good knowledge about a particular crop and have a fairly confident view of the impact of Brexit on it over the next couple of years so I took a punt on it with my “risky” money.
This type of stuff is not actually an independent cryptocurrency with its own blockchain, it is tokens implemented via "smart contracts" running on the network of a host cryptocurrency, like that of Ethereum. "Smart contracts" are computer programs that are a) usually written by shady anonymous unaccountable people and b) usually not properly audited. They are not legally considered actual contracts. In scams like this, the smart contract lets the developers just take all the (i.e.) Ethereum locked up in it and run with it, after enough people have bought in. This permanently crashes the price.
I bought €10 in BTC 7 years ago for a school project. A few years later I converted it to Ethereum and it went up to like €250 until the online wallet I had it in was hacked or they ran off with it. That's when I lost interest in crypto 😒
No one believes me but back in university I bought 10,000 BTC when they were a nickel per.
I have no idea where they are or if they're even still accessible but somewhere in a landfill near Eugene, Oregon there's an old, dead laptop that might have the info if it's even possible to restore the hard drive.
Just a month or so ago that fortune was over half a billion dollars. I still remember the first time my lost coins hit a million- I wanted to fucking kms.
At this point though, I'm just happy knowing there's a shit ton of money out there that no one will likely ever see.
I didn't take it seriously either at the time because it was basically only used for drugs or cp back then. Just bought them because I was drunk and 'dark web money' seemed cool and then forgot about them.
Would be nice to have them rn though, could finally buy that submarine I've always wanted.
Mining cards are actually usually in pretty good condition, if the previous owner knew what they were doing. If you're doing it right, you keep them undervolted at a constant load to manage heat and wear. Most wear on computer parts is from heating and cooling. Mining cards never get hot enough to get damaged, and never cool down enough to contract. Odds are you're buying it from a rart that didn't know what they were doing though.
At this point its unironically more cost effective to just get a prebuilt. You will be paying as much for the gpu itself for the next 6 months at least as you would for a prebuilt with the same card.
In this day and age you can just take meth, write a convoluted unintelligible Stimpost including some Finance lingo, and zoomers will hand you their money for free
Crypto in its current form will probably go out like a candle the moment it is taxed and Chinese miners lose their free power. Which is a shame because idiots deserve to be parted from their money.

Filtering out cryptards is something that the private sector excels at 😎

Cryptards are peak industrial society. So everything that hurts them is per se morally good and virtuous. Also, Do we need a 🏴☠️loveforcryptoscams?
Ceterum censeo industrialis societatis esse delendam.

It gives me real satisfaction to see him get pwned again. I think this is the third time he's 'invested' in a scam, but this is the first crypto.
