Nazism in this area, above all else, was extreme anti-intellectualism.
You can see this is how they radically re-framed German history as well. Comparing anything that happens in America to "nazi book burning" is either pure, unfiltered historical illiteracy or intentional disinformation.
Ironically, it's the conservatives that have vastly more in common with the nazi understanding of history than anyone else.
Which is why they're so rabidly against any re-telling of American history that isn't a fluff piece about the American "spirit" or whatever else.
