In 2016, Hamilton’s internet fandom was at its peak. Tumblr was headcanon-ing and fanfic-ing the Founding Fathers. Twitter was tripping over itself attempting to win #HamilFam ticket giveaways. And the show’s composer, star, and writer Lin-Manuel Miranda was simultaneously being hailed as a Shakespeare for the modern era and as a “Linammon roll,” a nickname his fans gave him in honor of Tumblr users’ penchant for labeling their favorite celebrities “cinnamon rolls.”

Have sex holy shit

I never understood the hype behind hamilton. Its literally just a broadway babbys first hip hop fusion that spawned off of a literal extra on House MD during the insane asylum rehab arc.

It only exists to make rap palatable to rich white libs

I only listen to rap if the lyrics are misogynistic

n the wake of the Black Lives Matter protests and Donald Trump’s presidency

Literally where did this come from

We live in a post-gamergate dystopia

After the end of World War II, the world was split into two -- East and West. This marked the beginning of the era called the Cold War.

4 years. That’s as long as a celebrity has to keep the attention of the youth demographic before the youth grow up and move onto other things like careers and alcoholism. And I consider “the internet”, when it comes to what’s popular on it, to be the youth demographic. Teenagers control the cultural zeitgeist due to the current anonymity of social media.

casualty of the intergenerational feud between millennials and Gen Z, in which the former’s pop culture becomes fodder for the latter’s cringe culture.

As a younger millennial idk anyone like that dude or thinks he’s trendy besides some weirdos who are so out of touch and boring they though Hamilton was good.

Words words words words

I honestly kind of like Gen Z better than us Millennials. Or maybe I just enjoy watching them bully Millennials.
