My grandma got my mom involved in this racket when I was a kid (this led to my mom becoming a RN) and even when she started working there right off the bat it was like 19-20 dollars an hour, and that was when I was 12 or 13, I'm 30 now.
So this was a while ago. Obviously an RN makes a lot more, over 40 dollars an hour back then where I lived, but even a non-rn is making good money.
So realistically this woman likely just lost a very well paying job for a 2 dollar bag of chips.
They're saying they get paid 25K starting salary in the thread. That's a pretty average wage. If you're not living in London it's enough to buy your own Doritos.
I've noticed it doesn't matter what you make, in the greater sense. If you are at the bottom rungs of your company's pay scale, you'll be surrounded by people whining about how they're underpaid.
