I just don't get how dumb you'd have to be to think virtual education is acceptable, let alone 1 teacher per 400 kids.
Literally all you're doing is fucking over poor kids because the rich will just send their kids to private schools with smaller class rooms or buy 1 on 1 tutoring.
Let alone the developmental milestones many children fail to reach outside of school.
I think virtual education could be used as a supplement to in-person learning, like having 1 of 5 days being online (this would only really work at higher ages, maybe 16+, since young children are just too r-slurred). But to somehow try and draw the conclusion that virtual learning allows 1 teacher to teach 400 children is just deranged. I don't even understand his warped logic or where he's coming from at all, there's no connection between virtual learning and the amount of students a teacher can effectively teach anyway.
id like to believe in the context that he means online VoD for elementary/high school would be available for a grade of 400 students as a supplement, as it has been for some universities for years.
its a pretty big stretch, but i just cant fathom how someone could believe 1 teacher could control more than 30 terrors at a time.
Just like with genders, there are only 2 types of people rich and poor. Oh wait, DDD said there are at least 3 genders. The middle class exists, bigot.
What strikes me the most about this is that smaller classroom sizes is something everyone thinks is a good thing. We have found the only person in the world who thinks classroom sizes should be larger and they will probably be the next mayor of the largest city in America.
Lmao nobody is on a crusade against math. Ironically the things they're suggesting in relation to math are fairly good changes, they're just trying to drench them in racial idpol to garner support.
In general the way schools teach math is dumb and there's a lot of bad habits.
I agree that schools don't teach math the best but its not those at the top who need to be held back but those they push through year after year to the next level that don't understand basic arithmetic.
Why not go back to the 40s and 50s way of teaching math. Those fuckers came up with the nuclear age. What new breakthrough has happened lately? Programmer socks?
Perhaps he was educated with 300 other students over stream? Perhaps he has a paper bag of money in his pocket? Perhaps he’s a r/drama mod? There are many possibilities here.
Smaller class sizes increase performance of students by every metric, including college attendence. It allows a teacher to build a relationship with the students, which encourages then to want to not look retarded.
One lady supporting your bad take is meaningless unless there's actual proof. You can find dozens of long term studies showing the benefits of smaller class size.
And I thought my home room teacher having to deal with 30+ kids was a nightmare. These people want the teachers to out-suffer their Asian counterparts.
Underfunded Christian schools do education better than most public ones. Partially because the teachers get paid even less and feel like they need to work harder because well God.
Test scores aren't better education, genius. Just because you got touched by your 5th grade bible teacher and don't regret it doesn't mean you need to shill for religious schools.
Rdrama needs a crusade, to purge "people" like you.
I have unironically tried to convince people that the most efficient way to do schooling in the modern day would be to develop a single online curriculum that can be completed asynchronously with daily/weekly deadlines for typical classroom work. Then convert current schools into daycares where teachers tutor people who need extra help and ensure everyone is working. Of course everyone so far has been a luddite and says it is the most r-slured education proposal they've heard.
Then I remember not everyone is a terminally online r-slur like me who'd rather teach themselves then listen to a lecture 10 times out of 10.

This is genuinely the most incompetent and ridiculous thing I have seen said in mainstream politics.
It reveals such a profound misunderstanding of how education works it borders on mental illness.

I love his proposal that kids get 6 hours of sleep per night. Gotta start the next generation of investment bankers early!

He's trying to fund some full school year shit and thinks he can do it by making the ratio 1 teacher to 400 students.
25 goodbehaviorsam 2021-06-12
Shit virtual educamacation barely works in small class sizes of like 25 college students.

This just sounds like making Khan Academy videos that will probably be shittier than 90% of the tutorials on youtube.

Don’t shit talk Khan academy, that saved me in pre-calc and Calc 1

Why are you linking an add for some for profit school?
-10 Exotic_Ad7433 2021-06-12
If you think that's what that is, this is not a topic you should be discussing.
But here, the final nail:

But this guy doesn't think they need to get rid of highschool calculus and included his Idpol agenda.
3 Exotic_Ad7433 2021-06-12
Not really getting rid of it, fixing the system to create a stronger foundation.
Many kids that take AP calc end up failing out of math in college very quickly.

The only thing that is saying is that you shouldn’t rush fundamental classes and that math majors need more than standard engineering arithmetic.
The reason the sequence is what it is isn’t for math majors. It teaches the necessary skills for vocations, like engineers and carpenters.

Right, public education is about babysitting
8 Homofascism 2021-06-12
One of the big discovery by the current (or is it previous?) nobel in economy is that less people in a class do not help the kids get better grades.
So once again you are rslurred and out of date science wise.
30 Exotic_Ad7433 2021-06-12
There is no universe in which a teacher can maintain a class of 400 children.
That might be true for standard, within reason class sizes, it sure as hell isn't true for a class size of 400, and virtually at that.
16 Homofascism 2021-06-12
The study was on class size of 80.
But it was done in third world countries, so training the children to not be screaming rslur was the job of the parent, not the teacher.
10 Shitposting_Skeleton 2021-06-12
Then in burger terms it's not one teacher, more like 161.

Ultra-orthodox (Hasidic) yeshivas. Only two of 28 were found to be meeting basic standards (such as “teaching math”) despite accusations of cheating.
