Pizza, I am reminded of that time you argued with Redditors about assault and owning a gun. I don’t recall entire chain, but they were rage posting at the idea that someone might own a gun and use it when assaulted. It was beautiful.
That's one of my favorite baits. I go to publicfreakout and find a video of a minority assaulting someone over racism and I say "that's why you carry a gun in America" and they just melt-down.

When a company has as much of a market share as amazon they become effectively too big to fail, and not in the way banks were in 2008, I mean its virtually impossible for them to fall apart outside of having all of their employees strike at once.
Plus it wouldn’t surprise me if their policy of hiring basically anyone was caused by an astronomically high turnover rate due to shitty pay/benefits to work ratio. They probably calculated that the cost of turnover was worth it I guess.
Amazon's already counting on automating the full delivery chain anyway in the long run. Why invest in a bunch of programs for drivers when your long game is total logistics automation?
Amazon doesn't even employ the delivery drivers. Neither do UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc. All of these companies subcontract to third-parties who get exclusive rights to run a delivery operation within a specific area, as long as they use the major company's mandated branding.
This is purely done because r-slurs like the schizo in this video are the only people who will take delivery driver jobs, so these big brands need a small time partner to buck the liability to. These operations are usually ran by facebook-ranting "look at me I'm a small business owner" types who aren't smart enough to figure out an actual business model so they buy into pre packaged businesses like this. And because your revenue is basically capped from the start, these firms are incentivized to pay as shittily as possible for long hours.
What boggles my mind is that their website is complete and utter trash. It's nearly impossible to find the stuff you want even if you're dead-set on buying it there.
A while ago I wanted to buy a couple of really disparate items online (think cheese grater, battery charger, earphones, underwear), so I though I might as well save on the shipping and the effort, let's buy it at the one-stop-shop that is Amazon. Well, it turns out that not only is it not possible to filter for stuff shipped from Amazon as opposed to a third party (so that I can combine the items into one shipment), it is also impossible to filter for stuff that I can actually, you know, buy. Half the stuff wouldn't ship to me, and a third of the rest was out of stock. It's a useless fucking company.
And don't even get me started on the hidden shipping fees. FFS, I have to literally be one step from credit card info to see how much the total will be, the fuck is this shit?

Lmao I love how quickly radlibs try to justify any violence on the basis something racist might have happened.

I'm not sure if you're what this website needs, but you're definitely what it deserves.

So Exotic_Ad is the mythical pizza? I've been reading r/drama for over two years and somehow never realized this

Snitching is inherently racist. If you tell the police about a crime you have the blood of George Floyd on your hands.

Huh...so that's what that was. Thought it might have been the barbecue sauce I dipped my tendies in before I ate them.

Amazon will hire anyone. I don't know how they stay in business.

UPS drivers are unionized and make like 6 figures lmao.
You're right about FedEx though, and I assume the rest of them.
15 respaaaaaj 2021-06-22
Bezos apparently deliberately wants high turn over in his work force hence the shitty conditions, I assume in order to avoid the risk of unionization

Also you never have to give them raises if they quit in 3 months.

Hey gramps, you can do all of the shit you're bitching about on Amazon. Just ask your grandson to show you how to use a computer.

They have to. People are leaving as soon as they are hired.

Either the driver has the strength of a soyboy or that old woman had her bones replaced with adamantium.

The driver is a f*id - enough said.

This is weeks old and the driver was arrested. Drama is so washed up these days, sad.

Those swings on a 60 year-old, and yet the old lady was unfazed.
