Indiana Jones was cool cause he was young, handsome, he fucked every girl he met and murdered everyone who crossed his way, why would someone watch a 80 year old pretending to be an adventurer?
I love this man. He gets trotted out on late night talk shows to promote his movies and when they ask him why he accepted such a challenging uplifting blahblahblah role, he's usually the only honest actor out there. He's like "well, they offered me a lot of fucking money and Daddy wants another airplane."
That franchise needs to experience the sweet release of death, though. It really ended in 1989.
I mean... Yeah. Do you expect them to put millions into making a movie just from the goodness of their hearts? Obviously they want a return on their investment

That's a great point, it'd be like if Sean Connery was still playing Bond up until last year

Hollywood truly is incapable of creating any new stories aren't they?

They aren't incapable, people are just risk-averse.
Why take a chance on something new when they have things that work and make them large amounts of money as is?
Blame unfiltered capitalism.
There have been numerous attempts to create new franchises that just flopped, John Carter comes to mind.

Did he get in another plane crash?
7 Pepperglue 2021-06-26
That's probably the nicest thing he could do for the franchise now.
