I'm getting really tired of people who live in a free country where we have the right to speak out against authoritarian regimes like the Chinese, taking that privilege for granted and trying to squash peoples free expression. It's really gross. We didn't fight the Nazis for you to censor other people. Quite the opposite.

That's the complete and total opposite of what I'm saying. We need to speak out against authoritarian regimes and use our freedoms to do so. This man, other than violating a city ordinance law regarding fences, is fully within his rights, and Ottawa's Finest are defending him for that it seems.

Freedom of speech. Please learn to live with others that have different opinions.

1. There is no such thing as freedom of speech in Canada. It's called Freedom of Expression and the Charter of Rights & Freedoms specially says it can be limited to protect other rights & freedoms.

2. Posting racist rhetoric on a sign isn't a difference of opinion. It's racist. Racist/hate speech is not protected in the Charter of Rights & Freedoms.

this is not exactly 'average-Canadians', as it is cosmopolitan leftists, who makeup a majority of city subs, but sometimes not the national sub.
