Much like how the masses nowadays attach the very meaning of their existence to the next best show on television or the next anticipated form of media, forgetting and neglecting their duty to Allah in the process. Such distractions amount to nothing at the end.
Take two recent examples from popular culture and media:
Game of Thrones: lauded as the best series in television history, to the point wherein it cultivated a hysterically maddening cult of millions or more, bent and completely obsessed with worshiping the visual images and sound being reproduced on screens.
Critically acclaimed by the so-called 'critics' and its followers alike, the final season of it was much looked forward to. What actually happened? The ending was a disaster. So bad it destroyed the entire show's legacy. A deserved fate for a series grounded in fornication, incest, and other degenerate themes.
Cyberpunk 2077: lauded as the next breakthrough in gaming design, storing telling, world building and AI. Trailer reveled in 2012 and the following 8 years cultivated a cult following idolizing and worshipping the game. What happened? Game was delayed a few times this year and finally released, in a very buggy state, with poor AI, mediocre story and characters. Its console versions being much worse and nigh unplayable. The game studio's stock has plunged by 40%+ shaving billions off the company's value so far in a week and continues to slide down. The game was even pulled from the PlayStation Store by Sony today and fully refunded in an unprecedented move. Utter humiliation and disgrace.
Make no mistake, these are signs for those who are mindful. Allah is the only entity worthy of worship and if humans choose to ground in their hopes and expectations in anything else, all that awaits is disappointment.

He's really not wrong about the worship of GoT and CP77, which the redditeurs in the comments are desperately denying.
