Tbh my takeaway from this is just how homogeneous Redditors are politically (and otherwise); I don't really see a problem with taking politics into account when dating. I personally wouldn't even consider marrying a liberal.
I don't think all republicans are bad. Don't get me wrong, I hate trump supporters and most conservatives I've come across, but Arnold Schwarzenegger is apparently a republican, and he's a really great person.
That stands to reason that there are other republicans who aren't terrible people.
Caring about how our country is run and who makes decisions on our behalf is a deal breaker huh? As someone who is passionate about it politics this kind of attitude blows my mind. I truly don't understand how one could not care immensely.
You are not constantly pissing and shitting all over yourself every time a new law is passed?? It’s not like my actions will ever make a meaningful difference or anything. But my life is so empty of something meaningful that I must constantly play into politics and force everyone else to do it.
